Install CyanogenMod 9 Android ICS 4.0.3 on Galaxy Note
Galaxy Note users can now install Android ICS 4.0.3 on their devices with the CyanogenMod 9 ROM. As we all know that CyanogenMod 9 ROM is the most famous Custom ROM. There are some issues on the ROM but we can wait for the developers till they solve everything out in newer updates. Still the update is worth trying if you wanna taste Android ICS CM9 on your mobile phone. Don’t worry a lot about the bugs as they will be ironed out in some time as CyanogenMod has a very large user base. Read on to know more about the process to install CM9 ROM on Samsung Galaxy Note.
Note: Samsung has already pushed the official Android ICS update for the Galaxy Note, I would recommend you to use the official one. The CyanogenMod 9 ROM is still under development stages and this ROM is not a daily driver. But worth installing if you wanna enjoy Android ICS CM9 on your Galaxy Note.

Known Issues in the CyanogenMod 9 ROM

- Microphone during phone calls doesn’t work (you can hear other people but they won’t hear you – mic in apps like Skype or Vocal recognition works fine though) => Mostly fixed in build #2
- Video recording doesn’t work
- Movie Studio is broken
- E-pen isn’t aligned properly in landscape => Fix included for build #2
- Boot animation not scaled properly => Fix included for build #2
Pre-Requisites before installing CM9 ROM on Galaxy Note
- The Steps listed here are for the Samsung Galaxy Note.
- Make a backup of your ROM with Nandroid Backup and Restore App.
- Backup all of your SMS, Contacts, Call Logs, APN Settings, and necessary applications (using Astro File Manger).
- Make sure that your device is fully charged.
- Uninstall Kies from your Computer and disable you antivirus because they can clutter in between the process of flashing.
- Enable USB Debugging on your device, To Enable Go To Settings >> Applications >> Development and check whether USB Debugging is checked or not.
- Device drivers should be installed on your computer.
How To Install CM9 ROM on Samsung Galaxy Note
- CWM Recovery should be installed on your mobile phone.
- Download the latest version of the CM9 ROM from the official development thread.
- Download the Google Apps Package.
- Copy both the files to the root of your SD Card. Now, turn off your mobile phone and reboot into CWM Recovery.
- Select “Install zip from sd card” >> “Choose zip from sd card” and then select the CM9 ROM that we had transferred earlier to the device. After that flash the Google Apps Package using the same procedure.
- After the flashing of both the files is complete, your mobile phone will return to the CWM Recovery screen.
- From there, select “go back” and then “reboot system now”.
- First boot might take some time but wait as this would happen only once.
That’s all. You’ve successfully installed Android ICS 4.0.3 CM9 ROM on Samsung Galaxy Note.
